GOVERNOR VACANCIES |
Are you looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to make a difference?
Do you have a passion for improving opportunities for children in education in your community?
Would you like to develop your own professional skills?
If you answered ‘yes’ to all three questions, perhaps you might consider volunteering as a school governor at Warden Park Primary Academy.
Our Governors play an important role in leading our Sussex Learning Trust academies. They set the strategic vision and direction, approve the budget and hold the Headteacher and senior leaders to account for the educational outcomes of our pupils. The Governing Body has significant delegated authority to lead the academies backed up by the support and partnership opportunities provided by Sussex Learning Trust.
Our Governors are all volunteers. Working together as a local governing body, they play a valuable role in bringing their own experiences and perspectives from work, public service and the community together to help support, challenge and inform decision-making for our academy. They all share the collective aim of promoting ongoing development and improvement of our academy in the interests of the children and communities that they serve.
We would particularly welcome applications from individuals with relevant professional skills or personal experience and:
● a background in education, finance or strategic planning to further complement the skills
and experience of the existing governing body; and/or
● a real passion for improving opportunities for young people in our academy and the local
community.
If you would like any further information about the roles, please contact Andrea Barrett (Clerk to the
Governing Body of Warden Park Primary Academy) wppaclerk@sussexlearningtrust.co.uk who can
provide you with further details and an application form.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be viewed here.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are Mrs Angela Baxter, Mrs Hannah Dodd and Mrs Katie McDonald
The Governor with responsibility for safeguarding in our school in Rachel Jowett.
